Information about Realtors®

  • Not every real estate agent is a Realtor®. Realtors® are licensed affiliate brokers or brokers in the state of Tennessee that also are members of the National Association of Realtors®. As such, they are held to a much higher set of ethical standards and must adhere to a code of ethics.
  • When you hire a Realtor® you are getting a consummate professional that is bound by an agency agreement to work only for you that honors a confidential and fiduciary responsibility to you.
  • They also have vast amounts of training available to them, and can access training in areas that go well beyond the continuing education requirements of normal agents.
  • Since they have so much training available, Realtors® have a lot of expertise in all the forms necessary for contracts, inspections, disclosures, reports and other technical documents.
  • While searching for homes online has become easier with smartphones and tablets, Realtors® have access to homes the general public may not. Not every home is listed on the MLS, or at least not right away. Realtors® also have a vast network or other agents and Realtors® to gain insight into upcoming listings the general public doesn't have visibility to.
  • Whether buying or selling, Realtors® are savvy negotiators and will work for you to get you the best deal.
  • Most people use professionals such as attorneys, CPAs and doctors for major activities in their lives. Purchasing or selling a home is just as important and can be made so much easier by using a professional in that arena - a Realtor®.
